In Sickness and in Health...

Skyler and I had a great wedding! Thanks to everyone who helped make it PERFECT!

We had a great honeymoon too. Got to go ziplining in Jamaica and scuba diving in Grand Cayman. That was AMAZING! We had a blast. Towards the end of the cruise, the weather got pretty rough and I got pretty seasick. Poor Skyler had to take care of me :(

It's been a whirlwind since we got home. Christmas was pretty crazy, running from house to house. And then I've developed a respiratory infection. I tried to wait it out but Skyler ended up having to take me to the doctors office. He's really getting to experience the whole "in sickness and in health" aspect of our vows! I got a shot and a bunch of meds. I'm starting to feel a little better but still have a nasty cough!

We've found that being married to each other isn't so different. I thought I would have trouble adjusting living with someone else since I've lived alone for 16 months. But we are making it work :) We are, however, finding out things we didn't really know about each other. Finding little habits we like. And finding little habits we don't like (Skyler, put the toilet seat down!).

Today, Skyler and I did our first DIY project. We installed our new cooktop. I've had it for a while, it just needed to be installed. Here's the old cooktop when I first moved in. Harvest gold, coil electric, gross:

And here's the new one (the walls, countertops, and cabinets have been painted for a while now):

MUCH better! It took us about an hour to change out everything. And we only wanted to throw it across the kitchen once or twice. It took a lot of teamwork, trading out when one of us got tired or mad. It looks so nice and I LOVE it! Now hopefully I can get the oven switched out soon too. But that's a much larger project for another time :)

I hope to use this blog to keep everyone updated on our journey through marriage. So be looking for new posts as I can write them!

Welcome!

Hey everyone!

Welcome to our website!

I had previously made a wedding website but didn't realize it was one of those "we don't tell you but this is really just a 2 week trial so we can con you into paying hundreds of dollars to get all of the features" websites.

And then it hit me! I've dabbled with blogging so why don't I just make a blog! This way I can easily share info about the wedding. I also plan on using this to update about our life during our first year of marriage.

Please use the tabs on the right to RSVP and find more information. For those of you that previously registered using the old website, I've already added in your information so you don't have to enter your info again.

Thanks!
